Surah Yaseen As the heart of the Quran

Sura e Yaseen has been called the heart of the Holy Quran. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Everything has a heart, and the heart of the Quran is Surah Yaseen.” The heart is the source of life and energy for the entire body, and Surah Yaseen is the centre of the spiritual effects and blessings of the entire Quran.

Recitation of this Surah brings peace to the heart, refreshment to the soul, and blessings to life. This is why believers make reciting Surah Yaseen a part of their lives every day so that they can be successful in both this world and the hereafter.

The Importance of Surah Yaseen

Every Surah of the Holy Quran is filled with the wisdom and mercy of Allah Almighty, but some Surahs have been given special virtue. One of them is Surah Yaseen, which the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) called the “heart” of the Quran. This means that just as the heart is a symbol of life and movement in the human body, Surah Yaseen is a Surah that revives the message of the Quran in the hearts.

Lessons Of Surah e Yaseen

Surah Yaseen is a great Surah of the Holy Quran in which the foundations of faith are explained in a very interesting and effective way. This Surah focuses on three major themes. The lessons conveyed in these ayatas are:

Monotheism

Surah Yaseen provides evidence for the oneness and power of Allah Almighty. The creation of the universe, the alternation of night and day, the rotation of the sun and moon, and the reviving of the earth through rain — all of these are presented as signs so that man may reflect and believe that there is only one Creator and Owner who is running everything.

 Messengership

This Surah explains the purpose of the mission of the Prophets (peace be upon them). Allah Almighty sent messengers to guide every nation and presented evidence for their truthfulness. Surah Yaseen mentions the incident of the people of a town where three messengers were sent, but the people rejected them.

Then a believing man confirmed these messengers and believed, and after martyrdom, he received the good news of Paradise. This story is proof that the call of the prophets is based on truth.

The Hereafter

A large part of Surah Yasin consists of the events of the Day of Judgment and the Hereafter. It mentions the blowing of the trumpet, the resurrection of people, the reckoning, the blessings of Paradise, and the punishments of Hell in detail. This verse in particular shakes the heart:

“If there is but one shout, then they will all be present before Us.”
