Ayat 1-4:The Mecry Of Allah
Verses
1. The Most Compassionate
2. taught the Quran,
3. Created humanity,
4. and˺ taught them speech.
Verses
The first verse of Surah Ar-Rahman states that there is none more merciful than Allah. Allah is the Most Merciful. In it, we are told the greatness of Allah. How merciful our God is!
The greatest mercy of Allah upon us is the Teaching of the Quran which has the solution to every problem and brings us the righteous path. God has favoured us with so much more than a human can even imagine.
According to verse 4 , God created man and made him distinct from all other creatures and taught them to speak so that they could communicate with each other.In addition, Allah blessed them with different languages so they talk to each other. That is why humans can share their sorrows and joys with each other because Allah taught them to speak.
Ayat 5-8:Perfection in Creation
Verses
5. The sun and the moon ˹travel˺ with precision.
6. The stars and the trees bow down ˹in submission.
7. As for the sky, He raised it ˹high˺, and set the balance ˹of justice˺
8 .so that you do not defraud the scales.
Explanation
And in the fifth verse,there is discussion about the moon and the sun, telling us how accurately they move. Allah tells us that the sun and moon always travel with precision. It shows how beautiful Allah has created them.
And then in Ayat 6 we see the mention of stars and trees, in which we are told how all of this is due to Allah. How even the moon and the sun prostrate to Allah, follow Him, and show their love for Him.They also follow Allah’s command.
It is further stated that Allah created the heavens and made them so beautifully that justice could be established in all blessings. He created the heavens so beautifully and made everything perfect. Allah has created everything in the world perfectly.
In verse 8 Allah addressed the humans neither to corrupt this system for any reason nor to deceive anyone in any matter of life. Be loyal to relationships, fair in business and all the matters in your life do not defraud the balance between them.
Ayat 9-12:Justice and Blessing

9. Weigh with justice, and do not give short measure.
10. He laid out the earth for all beings.
11. In it are fruit, palm trees with date stalks,
`12. and grain with husks, and aromatic plants.
Explanation
Ayat number 9 states that always treat them fairly and never cheat anyone in any matter of life.
Allah has created the earth with perfection for all His subjects.
It contains many blessings for us, such as fruits and date palm trees. Allah has created so many wonderful things for us that a human being cannot even dream of.
Not only have fruits been produced, but also the grains have been made, from which we fulfil our food requirements. God has made such delicious foods for us.
Ayat 13-16:Creation Of Man and Jinn

13.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you ˹humans and jinn˺ both deny?
14.He created humankind from ˹sounding˺ clay-like pottery.
15.and created jinn from a ˹smokeless˺ flame of fire
16.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
Explaination
In this verse, we are asked, “Then which of the blessings of your Lord will you deny, O mankind and jinn?”Here, we are told to reflect And to be grateful for the things that Allah has created for his creatures.
Just as clay pots are made, God has made humans in the same way. Allah created humans from just clay and gave them such power that they can walk, run, eat, and also can do many other things.
Similarly, Allah created the jinn from a fire without smoke and gave them so much power. It reveals how simply and perfectly God creates all things.
With repeated questions: And which of the favours of your Lord will you deny?,Allah SWT asks us to reflect upon His numerous blessings.
Ayat 17-20:The Miracle Of Seas
Verses
17.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
18.Allah again told everyone to reflect on His blessings and then asked, “Then which of the blessings of your Lord will you deny?” It shows gratitude˹He is˺ the Lord of the two easts and the two wests.
19. He merges the two bodies of ˹fresh and salt˺ water,
20.Yet between them is a barrier they never cross.
Explanation
Allah addressed the Man to reflect on His blessings and repeatedly asked, “Then which of the blessings of your Lord will you deny?” so that we show our gratitude to our Lord.
Further explained in verse 18 that Allah is the Lord of the Easts and the Wests, that is, how He causes the sun to rise from the East and set in the West. The dawn and dusk occur every day in a fixed schedule, Which Allah has decided for all seasons, is perfect for all creatures.
Then in Ayat 19, Allah describes the miracle that we see in the oceans. Allah has created both freshwater and saltwater which can never meet.
There is a barrier between them that they are unable to overcome: fresh water on one side and salt water on the other.
Ayat 21-24:The blessings in the Seas
Verses
21.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
22.Out of both ˹waters˺ come forth pearls and coral.
23.To Him belong the ships with raised sails, sailing through the seas like mountains.
24.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you deny?
Explanation
With repeatedly asked questions in this surah Then which of your Lord’s favours will you deny? addresses us to ponder on the favours of Allah which are countless.
Further explained in ayat 22 that pearls and jade emerge from both water. Pearls and gems come from the seawater, which humans use to enhance their beauty. All of these are gifts from Allah to mankind and are a great example of His creations.
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? reminds us of Allah’s love for mankind.
In verse number 23 Allah then reminds humans that the sea in which ships sail, carrying people and goods from one place to another, Allah controls them too. The way boats float in the sea is a sign of Allah’s glory and creation.
Ayat 25-28:Eternality Of Allah
Verses
24.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
25.Every being on earth is bound to perish.
26.Only your Lord Himself, full of Majesty and Honour, will remain ˹forever˺.
27.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you deny?
Explanation
Again Allah asked Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?, to remind us Allah has bestowed us with many blessings.
In this verse, Allah speaks about the Hereafter and eternity.
In Ayat 25 it is explained that every creature in this world has to die one day and everything will come to an end. No matter how beautiful and powerful these things are, they will meet their fall and death.
The 26th verse teaches us a lesson that all the creatures in the world will perish one day. The One who will remain forever is the most glorious and , honourable and powerful. Everything in this world is destined to die except Allah.
Asked again Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
Ayat 28-31:Accountabilty of Man and Jinn
Verses
28.All those in the heavens and the earth are dependent on Him. Day in and day out He has something to bring about.
29.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
30.We will soon attend to you for judgment, O two multitudes ˹of jinn and humans˺!
31.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
Explanation
It is stated in this verse that everyone on earth and in the heavens is in need of Allah during the day. And even at night, nothing can happen without His will. All of us need Allah. Which makes us realize the power of Allah. Allah is the one who controls every moment of this world and He is the Lord of all.
It is asked again, “Then which of the favours of your Lord will you both deny?” to remind us the blessings of Allah.
Here we are reminded that soon we will be finished, and both Man and Jinn will appear before Allah for their actions So tha, and accountability of committed sins.
Again asked in this Ayat Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? as a repeated reminder to remember the grants and favours of Allah.
Ayat 32-35:Supermacy Of Allah
Verses
32.O assembly of jinn and humans! If you can penetrate beyond the realms of the heavens and the earth, then do so. ˹But˺ you cannot do that without ˹Our˺ authority.
33.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
34.Flames of fire and ˹molten˺ copper will be sent against you, and you will not be able to defend one another.
35.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
Explanation
In this verse, Allah Almighty challenges the jinn and humans that they are unable to go beyond the limits of the heavens and the earth,except when Allah Almighty want them to do so. “Ant that in this entire world, there is only Allah who can do everything, and everything is in His control.
Then again ask which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?, asking us to consider the mercy of God and all the other things that Allah has given us.
And then it is said in verse 35 that those who do not obey and follow the command of Allah, flames of fire and molten copper will be sent upon them and that they will be punished for whatever sins they have committed.
Again asked Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? Aims to recall the jinn and humans to reflect on Allah’s power and mercy.
Ayat 37-40:Punsihment in the Hell
37.˹How horrible will it be˺ when the heavens split apart, becoming rose-red like ˹burnt˺ oil!
38.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
39.On that Day there will be no need for any human or jinn to be asked about their sins.
40.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
Explanation
In this verse, we are told about how terrible the Day of Judgment will be. How scary it will be when the sky splits and the rose turns red like burnt oil. Here is a warning to us that Everyone will be punished for their sins.
Asking again Allah SWT says “Which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? ” reminds us of Allah’s extended mercy and love for all of us.
In verse 39 it is meant that everyone’s sins and rewards will be become known(On Qyamah). No one will need to clarify anything. Everything will be revealed, including how many sins they have committed and how many rewards they have earned, and they will be punished accordingly.
In Ayat 40 again comes the question Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
Ayat 41-44:The Horrific sight of Hell
Verses
41.The wicked will be recognized by their appearance, then will be seized by ˹their˺ forelocks and feet.
42.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
˹43.They will be told,˺ “This is the Hell which the wicked denied.”
44.They will alternate between its flames and scalding water.
Explanation
The sinners will be recognized on the Day of Resurrection by their appearances and seized by their feet and foreheads as a disgrace and humiliation.
Once again the verse which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? reminds us of Allah’s love and affection for us.
This verse tells us about Hell that the wrongdoers have spent their entire lives rejecting the message of Allah and being arrogant, so they will be told that this is the Hell that they denied in their worldly life.
And the wrongdoers will be punished for what they did in the midst of the fire of Hell and blazing water.
Ayat 45-48:The Gardens in Paradise
Verses
45.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
46.And whoever is in awe of standing before their Lord will have two Gardens.
47.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
48.˹Both will be˺ with lush branches.
Explanation
Then Again asked, “Which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? reminds us of Allah’s countless mercy for us.
After describing the punishment for the wrongdoers, Allah has told us here: that for those who are righteous and fear Allah, there will be two gardens filled with many branches, greenery, and beauty, which Allah will reward the believers.
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? shows us Allah’s countless favours and love for us.
This verse reminds us that only Allah can do all this, everything is in His hands. After this, the fountain is mentioned. It is said that in every garden there will be two fountains flowing. The fountain represents beauty and water Describes a beautiful concept of purity in life.
Ayat 49-52:Description of Fountain and Fruits
Verses
49.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
50.In each ˹Garden˺ will be two flowing springs.
51.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
52.In each will be two types of every fruit.
Explanation
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? This is the question repeatedly asked which reminds us of how much Allah has bestowed upon us.
In this verse, Allah has mentioned that there will also be two springs in the garden. Which will enhance its beauty even more.
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? This question has been asked again, which reminds us of how many blessings Allah has given us and how much mercy He has bestowed upon us.
In this verse, Allah has said that there will be two types of each fruit, which means that we will find many varieties of types. These fruits will be very tasty. Whatever we have eaten in this world, these fruits will be the most delicious.
Ayat 53-56:The Delights in the Paradise
Verses
53.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
54.Those ˹believers˺ will recline on furnishings lined with rich brocade. And the fruit of both Gardens will hang within reach.
55.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
56.In both ˹Gardens˺ will be maidens of modest gaze, who no human or jinn has ever touched before.
Explanation
The verse Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? reminds us again of Allah’s greatness.
This verse states that true believers will be living a luxurious life where they will have all the comforts and they will be reclining on beds that will be very beautiful.
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? repeatedly tells us of Allah’s loveable behaviour for His subjects.
This verse describes the beauty of relationships in Paradise. Here, for the believers, there will be girls who have never been touched by any human or jinn before, free from any defect.
Ayat 57-60:Rewards for the Righteous
57.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
58.Those ˹maidens˺ will be ˹as elegant˺ as rubies and coral.
59.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
60.Is there any reward for goodness except goodness?
Explanation
Again the same question Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? urges us(Man and jin) to Thank allah For His blessings.
In the 58th verse, it is explained that these girls are compared to rubies and pearls describing their beauty, purity, and perfection of Allah’s creation.
Again the asked question is Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?, revealing how Merciful and kind the Almighty is.
The verse number 60 states that the good deeds done in this world will grant us a great reward in the Hereafter. Good deeds will only be rewarded with good deeds. Further clearing that good actions performed in this world will be rewarded with great return, and the righteous ones will have a secure and happier life in the Hereafter.
Ayat 61-64:The Gardens in Paradise

61.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
62.And below these two ˹Gardens˺ will be two others.
63.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
64.Both will be dark green.

Again asked the question Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? urges us to remember that Allah’s mercy and love are unimaginable.
Allah further states that there is an even greater reward for the believers: beneath these two gardens there will be two more gardens in which they will eat, drink and enjoy themselves.
Again asked the question Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? Addresses all of us that Allah’s Generosity, mercy and love are beyond everything.
Further, Allah states in verse 64 that the colour of both gardens will be deep green, which will be very beautiful.
Ayat 65-68:Discussion of 02 more gardens

66.In each will be two gushing springs.

68.In both will be fruit, palm trees, and pomegranates.

Allah further explains about the gardens which will be filled with fruits of every kind including dates and pomegranates, each with unimaginable taste, making the people living there even more comfortable.
Ayat 69-72:The Beauty of Paradise

69.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
70.In all Gardens will be noble, pleasant mates.
71.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
72.˹They will be˺ maidens with gorgeous eyes, reserved in pavilions.
Explanation
Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? again reminds us of Allah’s favours for us.
This verse number 72 states that there will be very pleasant companions who will have a lot of common ground with each other. Such a blessing which creates a perfect environment for the believers.
The line which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? Addresses Man to be grateful to Allah for His unlimited blessings.
It is further stated in Ayat that there will be girls with very beautiful eyes who will be quarried. Their eyes will be so beautiful and attractive that the beholder will be left staring. And they will all be safe in the pavilions.
Ayat 73-76:Description of Maids in Paradise
Verses
73.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
74.No human or jinn has ever touched these ˹maidens˺ before.
75.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
76.All ˹believers˺ will be reclining on green cushions and splendid carpets.
Explanation
Here comes the question again Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? asking us to see the lovely behaviour of Allah.
It is stated in this verse that these maids will be so pure that no jinn has ever touched them before, nor a human also touched them before. They will be extremely pure.
Again Allah asks the question Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? telling us that He is the greatest of all and that everything we have is gifted by Him.
This verse indicates that all believers will live a very comfortable life there. All believers will relax on green cushions and enjoy magnificent carpets. They will be sitting on the most beautiful table. This place will be so beautiful that they have never seen it in the world.
Ayat 77-78:Exaltation and Majesty of Allah

77.Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny?
78.Blessed is the Name of your Lord, full of Majesty and Honour.
Explanation
Repeated asked question Then which of your Lord’s favours will you both deny? Comes as a reminder again prompting us to thank Him for His mercy and blessings.
The last verses of this Surah describe the glory of Allah, stating that the name of Allah is the most blessed, the most exalted, and Allah is full of greatness, and there is none who is wiser than Him.
